European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation GECT GO/EZTS GO
The EGTC GO is an Italian public body with legal personality, founded by the Municipalities of Gorizia, Nova Gorica and Šempeter-Vrtojba in 2011 under Regulation (EC) No. 1082/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council, to identify and address common challenges that can make the cross-border territory more competitive and attractive. The EGTC GO is a body that has jurisdiction over the territory of the three cities: it can go beyond the borders and face, for the first time, the challenges of a cooperation that plans and implements together, no longer thinking of three separate municipalities, but of a single cross-border city, composed of three no longer separate municipalities, but a continuous territory with no divisions.
